Appetizers Only

Usually on Friday nights we rent a movie and eat appetizer type foods on a blanket in the living room. We extended it all weekend this weekend. LOL The kids love it and it makes my life so much easier to make a dip or heat up some terribly unhealthy fried crap they love. Anyone have some ideas? I'll share their favorite 2 dips.

Uncle Mark's Dip
5 blocks of cream cheese
5 cans of Hormel Chili with beans
24 oz of Mexican cheese

Layer in that order in a large pan bake at 400 degrees until bubbly. Serve with tortilla chips.

Mean Cheese Dip
2 big boxes of Velveeta (the cheese for champions) diced
big can of petite diced tomatoes
2 cans (or more) chopped green chiles
2 lbs of cooked ground beef

Add to crock pot. Stir occasionally. Once melted, serve with flour tortillas.

Friday is Pizza and a movie night for us too....and kiddo usually gets a few potato chips as well...yay! kiddo! (Rachel, I know what you are thinking and don't even say it.....don't!)

And here to prove that we eat bad food in our house is...the recipe for Heart Attack Slam.

cauliflower and broccoli (wait it gets better)

Cheddar and jack cheese shredded together (a block or um....five...each)

A buncha (yes a scientific measure) mayonnaise.

Some...but not a buncha....mustard.

A long drizzle of honey....like...long long, but not too long.

Salt, garlic salt and pepper.

Mix up. Spread over cooked Broccoli and cauliflower, sprinkle with sunflower seeds and bake until the top and the seeds turn brown.

IT IS KILLER! And everyone in our family (and non family) devours it. After learning the ingredients, it adopted it's new name from the old Broccoli and cauliflower dish to Heart Attack Slam.

Crazy Woman who thinks veggies, sunflower seeds, and cheese are unhealthy really needs to get a grip. Your poor kiddo really need someone to step in with a few treats and quick before she figures out how deprived she is. I am going to try your dish b/c my kids LOVE both those veggies. Thanks!

I always liked French onion dip. Packet of Litpon's french onion soup mix in a tub of sour cream. Mix.
