Finding Strength

Patches is supposed to be getting in the shower as I type. She refused for 2 days and it was getting very bad. She was one little grease ball. It's a good thing I love her b/c I would have run from someone else's kid.

I am talking her another psychiatrist today. I am nervous but will be better prepared to stand up for myself and my kids. I have some new found strength from a group I belong to of parents with children inflicted with Schizophrenia. It is not uncommon for doctors not to believe what they don't see. Since most doctors don't see Childhood Onset Schizophrenia, it's hard for them to wrap their heads around. If I have to drive 2 hours to find a good doctor, I will.

We have something going on that I am hesitant to write details about here yet but will give you a hint. If I give you a time, channel, and date, would you watch us on TV?

good luck with the search, it is so hard when others don't hear or believe us! Why would we make this crap up!

praying that the appointment goes better than yesterday!!!

gosh, sometimes I wish I could take the kids' birthmom to appointments with me. A holographic representation of her with about 30 seconds of video interface. If the doctors could see her for just 30 seconds they'd all go...

"OOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
write me the necessary Rx, Dx, pat me on the shoulder and say, "It's OK mom, I completely understand now" and we could totally avoid all the history and psychometric testing and blah, blah, blah. For that matter, I want to record myself to answer all of their questions, always feeling like I have to justify myself and...

ugh.

being an adoptive parent of SpEd kids is O.M.G. friggin' hard.

Tudu...Oprah recently had a show about childhood SX. It was heartrending to watch. Perhaps it doesnt get diagnosed early, because much of what children say and do, we chalk up to "imagination". In this show, the parents of this wee girl, had to live in a side by side house, because the youngster was so violent they were afraid for their baby boy.

I am so glad you will not let yourself be intimidated by P-Doc. What a great mama you are.
